During my time as an Account Coordinator at Gallagher, I have been tasked with creating dynamic dashboards analyzing different aspects of the business. I have recreated a dashboard that I might have made by analyzing the big east conference basketball rankings between 2007 and 2021. The creation of these dashboards has taught me to analyze data by putting information in a visual format. The reason I created this dashboard was to see what teams have historically been contenders in the conference.

Steps that were taken:

1. Researched and found a data set on Kaggle.com that showed information that I was interested in. During my time at Gallagher, I would collect or use data that was available to me.
2. Coming up with an objective based on the data set - I wanted to understand who the best big east basketball team has been based on past data to help with my March Madness bracket.
3. Cleaning the data by selecting what data I wanted and getting it in the format that I wanted
4. Creating Pivot Tables
5. Connecting pivot tables
6. Create Pivot charts and a slider to filter between each year
7. Create an appealing visual with the charts I created

Findings:

1. The total amount of teams decreased from 16 to 10 from 2007 to 2021.
2. In the 15 years of the data, Villanova has the most games out of any other team in the conference at 521. The team with the second most games is Marquette at 498. Even though Villanova has more games than every other team, they only lead on points by 10 points.
3. Villanova has won the conference 6 of the last 15 years.
4. Syracuse has the highest percentage of wins for the conference, but they left the conference in 2013.
5. In 2021, St. John’s averaged the most points by almost 5 points but finished 7th out 11 in the conference.
